Download Instagram Reels, Stories and Videos from Any Link

Free Instagram video downloader – paste an instagram.com/reel/… or instagram.com/p/… link and save the MP4 with its original sound.

Public posts and Stories only. We never ask for an Instagram login. Copyright

No app or APK

Runs in the browser you already have, on desktop, iPhone or Android.

Original sound kept

The audio from the post travels with the file.

No watermark added

We never stamp the file; a mark already in the picture stays.

Public posts and Stories only

Private accounts, friend-only posts and DMs are out of reach by design.

How to download an Instagram Reel

  1. 1

Open the post in a browser

From the app tap the three dots → Link → Copy link. You get an address like instagram.com/reel/xxxxxxx/ for a Reel, instagram.com/p/xxxxxxx/ for a feed video, or instagram.com/stories/username/xxxxxxx/ for a Story.

  2. 2

Check it is public and still up

Paste the link into a private window and log out. If it plays there, this page can read it too. A Story the author already let expire, and anything from a private account, stays behind the wall.

  3. 3

Paste it above and hit Download MP4

Savemov opens the post, finds the file the player streams and prepares a copy.

  4. 4

    Save it to your device

The result link comes back with the response, so download on the spot – Savemov does not keep a copy. That matters most with Stories, which disappear on their own.

What this Instagram downloader can save

Reels

instagram.com/reel/… links – saved as MP4 in the vertical format the post was published in. A short instagram.com/share/reel/… address can come back as a still image instead of the video; open the Reel and copy instagram.com/reel/… instead.

Stories

A video Story from a public account saves the same way a Reel does. It has to still be up: the author sets how long a Story lives, and once it is gone there is no public file left to prepare.

Feed videos

A single video in the grid (instagram.com/p/…). Audio included.

The video inside a carousel

A mixed carousel can hold a video slide; that slide comes back as MP4.

Your own posts

Back up a Reel or a Story before editing or deleting it.

Photos, photo Stories and DMs

A photo is an image, not a video, so there is no MP4 to hand back – that includes photo-only Stories. Messages sent in Direct have no public address and no downloader can honestly reach them.

Video formats and quality

Savemov keeps the file Instagram already serves: an MP4 with the audio track from the post. No conversion, no re-encoding, no watermark of ours on top.

Quality follows the upload, not our settings. A video published at a lower resolution downloads at that resolution, and we will not upscale it to pretend otherwise. That is why there is no HD switch on this page.

We return the video file only. There is no separate MP3, no photo save and no GIF export – splitting the audio or turning a clip into a loop would mean re-encoding the file you asked for. If a result ever comes out silent, the post was published without sound.

About the Instagram watermark

Instagram adds its own mark when you save inside the app – the @username across the clip. Copying the link and using this page skips that step, so you get the file the player streams instead of the app's saved copy.

What no downloader can honestly remove is a mark already burned into the frames: a creator's logo, a caption sticker, an editing-app watermark. We leave those as published. Tools that claim to erase them re-encode the video, and that is what makes the result softer than what you watched.

So: no Savemov logo, ever. Everything else stays exactly as posted.

Public posts only – private accounts and Stories

This page reads only what a logged-out visitor can already see. Instagram puts private accounts, friend-only posts and most DMs behind a login, so there is no public file for us to prepare, and no setting here changes that.

It is also why no Instagram downloader can honestly promise private content. Any tool asking for your login, a browser extension or an APK with permissions it has no use for is not fetching a public file – it is collecting your account. Savemov asks for none of it: one public link, nothing stored, nothing installed.

Two things worth knowing before you save a Story. First, a Story only exists while the author keeps it up – when it drops off, the file goes with it, so save it at the time you watch it. Second, Savemov never signs into Instagram and holds no Instagram session, so nothing we do can be reported back to anyone; what happens inside the Instagram app itself is Instagram's own behaviour, which we neither control nor claim to switch off.

Instagram Reels downloader FAQ

How do I download an Instagram Reel?

Tap the three dots on the Reel → Link → Copy link, paste it above and press Download MP4. Savemov returns the file the player streams – no app, no sign-up, no Instagram account.

Is this Instagram downloader without watermark?

Yes, in the narrow sense: we add nothing, and saving from a link avoids the @username mark Instagram puts on in-app saves. A watermark already inside the picture stays where it is – removing it would mean re-encoding and softening the video.

Do I need an Instagram downloader app or APK?

No. Nothing to install or sideload, no extension, no permissions. You paste one public link in the browser you already use, on desktop, iPhone or Android – which is also why nothing here appears in your Instagram activity.

How do I save a Reel to my camera roll on iPhone?

Copy the link on the Reel (three dots → Link → Copy link), paste it above and press Download MP4 in Safari. iOS then does one thing Android does not: the MP4 lands in the Files app rather than straight in Photos. Open Safari's download list, tap the file, press Share → Save Video and it is in your camera roll. No App Store app is needed.

Can I download Instagram Stories too?

If the account is public and the Story is still live, yes – paste a link like instagram.com/stories/username/xxxxxxx/ and you get back the MP4 the player streams, sound included. A photo-only Story has no video file to return, and a Story the author has already let disappear cannot be brought back.

Why does my Instagram link not work?

The usual reasons: the account is private, the post was deleted or archived, the Story has already expired, or you pasted a photo rather than a video. An instagram.com/share/reel/… link can also come back as a JPEG instead of the Reel – open the Reel and copy instagram.com/reel/… instead. If the address does not play in a private window while logged out, there is no public file to save.

Can I download a video from a private Instagram account?

No. A private account's posts are visible only to approved followers when logged in, so there is no public file for any downloader to read. Tools promising otherwise want your login; that is how accounts get stolen.

Will the other person know I downloaded their Reel or Story?

Savemov never signs into Instagram and never touches your account, so nothing on our side can be reported to anyone. What the Instagram app itself shows is Instagram's own behaviour – we do not control it and cannot promise more than that.

Can I save Instagram photos or a whole carousel?

Photos are images, not video – this page returns an MP4, so a photo post has nothing to hand back. A mixed carousel is different: its video slide comes back as MP4.

Can I get the Instagram audio as an MP3?

No – the file is returned with its sound still inside the MP4, and we do not strip it out into a separate audio track. If the original sound matters, save the video; if the post was published without sound, the result will be silent too.

Is this Instagram downloader free, and is there a limit?

Yes – no sign-up and no account behind it. Each request saves one public video as MP4, at the quality that page published. There is no separate account to register and no Pro version behind it.

Can I back up my own Reels and Stories?

Yes, as long as they are public at the moment you save them – copy the link from your own post the same way. Once you switch an account to private, this page can no longer see your own posts either; for a full export of your account, Instagram's own Download your information is the right tool.

Before you save someone's video

Reels, Stories and posts belong to the people who made them. Saving for your own offline viewing or backing up your own account is one thing; reposting, selling or trimming someone else's work into your own is another. Rights holders can ask us to act on valid notices under our Copyright policy.
